5 professionals who have made it as showbiz celebs

There is a notion that celebrities are not academic giants and that they are totally dependent on their talents to eke out a living.

However, a section of Kenyan entertainers have multiple careers in different professions other than just showbiz.

Some of these celebs ‘ditched’ lucrative professions like law just to focus on showbiz where they have thrived, having scaled the wall of fame in the country.

Below are some of them:

Nameless

David Mathenge alias Nameless is an architect by profession having graduated from the University of Nairobi.

The father of three has successfully managed to juggle his career as an architect and as a musician.

Nameless was also one of the architects who worked on The Hub- Karen.

Nadia Mukami

Nadia Mukami holds a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance option, from Maseno University.

After a successful streak in music, Nadia recently decided to put her business degree to use when she opened a nail bar and beauty parlor in Nairobi CBD.

Polycarp Otieno

Polycarp Otieno is a guitarist, producer, and one of the members of the Afro-pop music band Sauti Sol.

The celebrity guitarist is an alumnus of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) where he studied Actuarial Science.

Corazon Kwamboka

Corazon Kwamboka is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya even though she rarely practices law.

The socialite was among 125 lawyers admitted to the Roll of Advocates in November 2016 by former Chief Justice David Maraga.

Kamene Goro

Kamene Goro made a name for herself in media but surprisingly she went to the University of Nairobi where she studied law.

Kamene previously worked as a paralegal before fully transitioning into the media industry.
