Anatii Opens Up About Having An Ancestral Calling Following The Release Of His Single “Amadlozi”
Anatii Opens Up About Having An Ancestral Calling Following The Release Of His Single “Amadlozi.” Anatii has made an impact in SA hip hop for the past years before he went on a long music hiatus. The rapper’s comeback to the music scene proved yet again his genius as an artist after dropping the track Punisher in form of NFT. Anatii became the first SA rapper to do so before he went on to drop Amadlozi featuring Lookatups.
In an interview with Drum Magazine, the rapper stated that what drove his recent single is his connection with his ancestors. The producer claimed that while he did not want to give away too much about his quest, he has been dropping hints to his fans about it but he has been on the spiritual journey for a while.
“But I have been giving hints to people about it but without revealing too much. I did not really share details of my gift but I do have a spiritual calling,” he said.
He admitted to Drum Magazine that he made an effort to use music to give people a behind-the-scenes look at his spiritual journey. “It really opens up the gateway for people to explore spirituality. Whether it is through music or art, that is where the inspiration comes from.” He said.
Anatii broke his musical hiatus on November 11th with the release of “Amadlozi.” This is a song he dedicates to his spiritual calling and how his ancestors have helped him to become enlightened.
Anatii also responded to whether he is currently going through the initiation process, “No, not at the moment.”
In addition, Anatii disclosed that he is creating a new album that will be distinct from his two prior releases, “Iyeza” and “Artiifact.”
“I am working on an album, and we are also working on a clothing line called Don’t Forget To Pray, we will be releasing our first collection. And the album is not what anyone expects, and I feel like every body of work that I do is different that way because it’s never the same as the other,” he explained.
