From participating in the reality show that shot many of them to the limelight, some ex-housemates have gone on to pick political appointments. Here is a list of ex-BBNaija housemates with political appointments:
1. Cindy Okafor from season 4 was specially recognised by the Abia State Government and appointed an Ambassador of the “Made in Aba” project by the state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu.
2. Gedoni Ekpata from season 4 was appointed as the Special Assistant to the Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade on Garment Factory and Branding.
3. The winner of season 5, Laycon was appointed as a Youth Ambassador by the Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun. Along with the appointment, the governor also gifted Laycon a three-bedroom bungalow and N5M.
4 and 5. Rebecca ‘Nengi’ Hampson and Tarimotimi Sinclair aka Trikytee, both from season 5, were appointed as senior special assistants to the Bayelsa State governor, Douye Diri. Diri appointed Nengi as a Senior Special Assistant on Girl Child Development though Trikytee’s portfolio wasn’t revealed.
6. Whitemoney, winner of the season 6 edition, was appointed by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state as the state’s Ambassador for Creative Arts.
