Gospel singer Ben Githae has been dragged into DJ Fatxo’s saga because of a group said to be raising money for legal expenses.
Reports emerged that entertainers had formed a group to contribute towards DJ Fatxo’s legal expenses after he was linked to the mysterious death of Jeff Mwathi who was an interior designer.
Githae, however, strongly denied that he was among musicians who are part of the said group.
The gospel singer clarified that most of the artistes he spoke to about raising money for Fatxo have denied being part of the group.
“We are not in any group. Those are just propaganda, but we are asking for justice, and that should be accompanied by the truth,” Ben Githae said during an interview with Nairobi News.
Githae further urged members of the public to give the responsible institutions handling the case time to work.
Many people have blamed Jeff Mwathi’s death on DJ Fatxo with some companies even dropping him as their brand ambassador.
Pritty Vishy, while empathizing with DJ Fatxo, stepped out to caution Kenyans against making premature judgments following Fatxo’s predicament.
In a post on social media, Vishy lamented that Kenyans like to pass quick judgments without compelling evidence.
Pritty Vishy’s sentiments came as a section of Kenyans staged a protest outside DJ Fatxo’s Redwood apartment along Thika road.
In a video clip, the protesters were seen holding placards while shouting the now trending slogan ‘#JusticeforJeff’.
Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on March 17, 2023 said the investigations into the death of Geoffrey Mwathi Ngugi aka Jeff had entered phase two where several persons of interest will be interviewed.
The agency in a statement said phase one of the probe had been completed.
