“Cult’s hype,” NOTA Gives An Unkind Verdict On A-Reece’s “DEADLINES: FREE P2”

“Cult’s hype,” NOTA Gives An Unkind Verdict On A-Reece’s “DEADLINES: FREE P2.” NOTA’s Twitter comments on SA hip hop have been received with mixed feelings, with some in agreement with some of his verdicts, whilst others consume his comments with a pinch of salt. Following the release of A-Reece’s brand new music project, Lavida NOTA has come through yet again with a very unkind verdict towards A-Reece’s body of work.

Taking to Twitter, NOTA went on and ridiculed A-Reece’s project. The contentious music entrepreneur said that instead of releasing the entire project, the Pretoria-based rapper just intended to release the song on which he appeared alongside DJ Maphorisa and his brother Jay Jody.

Baloyi did not stop there, as he did not spare A- Reece’s brother  Jay Jody. NOTA indicated that Jody’s sole responsibility was to ensure that Reece’s record sounded South African and that Blxckie’s Kwenzile music video will put an end to the cult fervour that has surrounded A-Reece’s career.

A-Reece should’ve just released this song instead of boring us with all that other garbage… Jody your job is make sure he sounds authentically South African, is it that hard to reach the benchmark I set for the game? The #Kwenzekile music video will squash this cult’s hype fast!” Tweeted NOTA.

This is not the first time NOTA has been on A-Reece’s case. In one of the interviews he did with MacG, NOTA stated that A-Reece and Nasty C don’t represent South African hip hop. “Unless they both start truly representing South African hip hop they must both die. What I am saying is this, if you do not grow, be stagnant and stay with your cult following it sucks.” NOTA said after being asked by MacG if one had to die between Nasty C and A-Reece who would it be?
