Expert hinges increased productivity on digitisation

Group Business Development Manager, IQ Express Limited, Andras Lukacs-Farkas, has highlighted the benefits of digitisation in the 21st century to include faster access to information, improved customer experience and increased productivity.

   

Lukacs-Farkas also said the benefits include lower operational costs, improved decision making, improved information security, automation of business processes and disaster recovery. He stated this in Lagos at the IQ-Fujitsu forum.

   

Speaking on the topic, “Importance of digital transformation in 21st century Africa,” he said digital transformation’s importance for African countries has become increasingly evident during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

    

He said technology seemed out of reach, as many African organisations have not been able to fully benefit from the digital economy. 

    

Also at the event, Fujitsu, a global information and communications technology company launched the Fujitsu fi-8000 series, Paper Stream (PS) capture pro scanner.

   

The Fujitsu fi-8000 is designed to address today’s business challenges and drive sustainable value creation.

   

Lukacs-Farkas in his presentation, said Fujitsu fi-8000 is designed to reproduce true colours than traditional Contact Image Sensor (CIS) camera tech and eliminate colour shift that can create fuzzy edges and address different focal depth points created by crumpled or uneven documents.

   

Also speaking on the launch of the scanner, Fujitsu PFU Technical Specialists, UK, Gavin Hubbard, said the uniqueness of the fi-8000 series is to improve the company’s productivity.

    

He said: “The technical enterprise with 1,000 workers wastes $2.5 million to $3.5 million per year searching for non-existed information, it’s estimated more in West Africa due to higher rate of document misplacement.”

   

PFU Regional Sales Manager, Middle East and Africa, Fujitsu, Adrian Cafferkey, said even with the counterfeit challenges in the Nigerian Market, it’s nearly impossible to copy the fi-8000 series.
