Experts have revealed plans to address sustainability concerns in African technology business models.
The experts, who gathered at the fifth-anniversary celebration and maiden edition of the Africa TechEnt conference organised by a human resources and management consulting firm, People Capacity Management (PCM) themed: ‘Rethinking the sustainability of African Tech Business Model’, resolved to explore viable solutions confronting African tech industry.
The conference brought together esteemed tech industry leaders, visionary entrepreneurs, astute investors and influential policymakers to deliberate and chart a path towards the development of robust and sustainable business models.
Managing Partner, PCM, Biola Ojo, said the African tech industry has experienced significant growth over the past two decades, witnessing a notable surge in innovation and investment.
She, however, noted that there were concerns about the sustainability of the current business models deployed by tech entrepreneurs, thus the need to focus attention not only on innovations but sustainability.
“Recognising this gap, PCM has taken a firm stance by organising a groundbreaking tech conference.”
As the industry continues to expand, concerns have emerged regarding the sustainability of the current business models adopted by tech entrepreneurs, she said.
She mentioned that the conference is to confront this pressing issue head-on, as industry stakeholders unite to explore viable solutions.
