Friends in high places: Anele hangs with Beyoncé’s dad Matthew Knowles

At this point, South African media personality Anele Mdoda is definitely the woman she thinks she is. The TV and radio presenter has been going places these last few months and most recently found herself hanging with iconic singer Beyoncé’s father and former manager, Matthew Knowles. Taking to Instagram, local author Kaya Dlanga shared a clip of the pair fraternizing in Los Angeles while discussing his book which Anele so graciously gave to the singer’s dad after making him a promise to get the book in the right hands.

Anele rubs shoulders with Matthew Knowles

Last year Anele Mdoda frequently trended because of her feud with former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland.

Despite the beef, she recently managed to rub shoulders with Kelly’s close friend and former manager Matthew Knowles, who is also the father of Love On Top singer Beyoncé Knowles Carter.

The 94.7 Breakfast Show host was among a number of South African celebrities who graced the red carpet at the BET Awards in Los Angeles last week and afterward found some time to mingle with the who’s who of Hollywood.

Award-winning marketer Khaya Dlanga, a close friend of Anele and author of To Quote Myself and These Things Really Do Happen to Me, shared a clip on Instagram of Anele speaking about how she managed to get one of his books into the hands of someone as prominent as Matthew Knowles.

“Hello fantastic Khaya Dlanga. Remember we said we must give your books to somebody special. I finally found somebody special to give your books to. I hope you agree with my choice,” said Mdoda.

In the clip, a slightly confused Matthew promised to read the books during his long flight to Rome soon.

“I am looking forward to reading these. I am an avid reader, and I can’t wait. I have a trip to Rome on Tuesday so I will be on a plane for hours, and I would have finished both of these books before I get to Rome. Thank you,” said Mr Knowles.

Meanwhile, Khaya also advised his fans and followers to get themselves friends like Anele who make these kinds of things happen.

“Santa Maria! Get yourself a friend like Anele. She gave my books to Mathew Knowles, Beyoncé’s dad! Whaaaat,” said Dlanga in the caption of the post.

As expected the post blew up as many people sang Anele’s praises while marveling over what an amazing friend she is.
