The SkhandaWorld boss is coming from a successful album release but the success of lead single SETE has set the bar even higher. In an interview with SA Hip Hop Mag, the rapper was asked how are feeling about followers a successful of single SETE and he said; “I feel blessed, grateful to still have the opportunity to be here doing what I love entertaining you know my fellow South Africans. But it looks like now this record seems to be cutting through even beyond these borders and seeing the reception in the continent and beyond is totally its just like humbling and amazing, he said.

K.O. has remained relevant in the game for the past 17 years. Speaking on how he feels about being able to remain relevant for such a long time, the rapper claimed to be untouchable due to his longevity. “I feel untouchable, but besides that, I just feel validated because our culture has a very toxic way of dealing with people who are familiar. Meaning like if you have been in the game for quite some time there comes a time where it’s like okay cool here’s your ceiling you can exist but now our main priority is the new blood, added K.O.

The veteran rapper stated that the only reason he has been able to compete with rookie artists in the game is due to his perseverance and enthusiasm for creating music.

“It just speaks to my own passion and drive and hard work of course and just resilience. I just believe that when you are coming to the game and doing what you do when you are afforded the opportunity to serve your people it cannot be upon the hands of individuals to determine how long you need to be in the space. As long as you have quality product to offer to the market you can be around for as long as you can and I just want to be literally just an epitome of that.

When asked if he was under too much strain while working on the SR3 album, K.O. boldly stated that the aforementioned body of work was the easiest due to the personnel he worked with. “This was light work, getting the album off to me that was probably the easiest compared to all the previous projects I have put together. Firstly, knowing that I had Lunatic we learned the beat at my disposal I knew like that was a cheat code already,” he said.

Now that SETE and SR3 have dominated the music chart K.O has promised his fans a new album and he vehemently stated he is currently working on it right now. “As we speak, I’m working on a new album already if all goes well, hopefully like next year I can drop something else as a follow-up.”

The rapper said that his forthcoming project wont be part of the Skhanda Republic series rather it will be under a different name. “It won’t be part of those Skhanda Republic series, it will be probably a different title I don’t think I’m gonna revisit SR,” he said.

In a bid to showcase his versatility as an artist, K.O. hinted to bring some more afrobeat sound to his forthcoming album. “Now it’s just for me to just continue building seeing where the canvas takes me and you might even get more afrobeat out of me man.”
