K.O Opens Up On How COVID-19 Almost Took Away His Life

K.O Opens Up On How COVID-19 Almost Took Away His Life. During the global epidemic, everything came to a standstill, and the entertainers that kept us all amused had nowhere to go or anything to do to keep us upbeat during the most trying times. The same applies to the SA rappers who were also hit hard by the financial hardships that came during this brouhaha.

K.O Opens Up On How COVID-19 Almost Took Away His Life

K.O is one of the South Africans who was not spared the wrath of COVID-19, which nearly sent him back to his maker. During an interview on DJ Sbu’s Hustler’s Corner podcast, the SETE hitmaker reflected on how the Corona Virus nearly took away his life.

“I have a terrible run-in with COVID, first wave,” he said. K.O stated that he could hardly speak when he received a phone call from his brother. “I literally the one night and I was alone in the house, the one night my brother called me, he lives in the same estate as me, thank God.”

“He heard my voice on the phone I could hardly speak, so I actually had caught the virus with my business partner and he stays at his own spot,” he said. “So now here I am in that freaking big house all by myself and my puppy, it was the scariest thing.”

The SkhandaWorld boss went on to describe how his brother told his infected business partner to go take care of him because he was struggling. “My bro says, he calls my business partner is like bro, I know you also have the thing but I think because both of you guys are positive,” he explained.

K.O described how he instructed his business partner to watch over him whilst he is sleeping the whole night because he believed that he might not make it through the morning. “So he came and the one night dude, I asked him to watch me sleep because I think I might not make it to the morning,” he said. “This is August, right in the middle of winter, load-shedding, I’m freezing at like four blankets and a jacket on top of a bummer jacket in bed.”

With everything that was going on, K.O claimed that he had to rely on his business partner to keep an eye on his respiration while he slept. “I asked him, bro, just sit next to me with a blanket bro just watch and observe my breathing, if you hear that I’m silent, shake me up, he had to stay up the entire night, and I told him, all I wanna see, I just wanna see sunrise,” he added.

“He stayed up, I think I only passed out because I was also trying to stay up because I just felt like if I slept, I might die in my sleep. So I tried to stay up as much as I can, but I eventually passed out maybe like 2.30 in the morning and the next thing I knew it was half past five and I started hearing birds chirping.

The award-winning rapper stated that whilst he was seated outside of his house after surviving COVID he had to resort to a long prayer thanking God for the gift of life. “When I stayed there until sunrise, i just set a long prayer bro, because that’s how scary it was,” he said.
