Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has hit out at comedian Jasper Muthomi alias MC Jessy after he called him out for his public support for struggling musician Stephen Otieno Adera alias Stivo Simple Boy.

In a post on TikTok, the legislator observed that some people, including MC Jessy, are displeased when Stivo is helped.

“Some people are not feeling well when Stivo is being assisted (sic),” he said.

Reminding the comedian of his failed bid for Imenti South parliamentary seat in the last general election, Salasya invited the politician for lessons on how to win an election.

“Ulianguka siasa. Ulisimama kura uko Meru ukanyimwa, kuja pole pole nikufunze siasa,” Salasya added.

He accused MC Jessy and the creative industry of ignoring Stivo when he needed them most.

Salasya revealed that he decided to broadcast his heroic moves to help the artiste to shame his fellow creatives.

“Stivo was suffering he even came in public for your help, you were there laughing at him. You are in the same industry, instead of helping, you’re there ranting, unarant nini, acha kijana asaidiwe,” he lamented.

“I have the capacity, I record so that I can shame you for not helping, you’re in the same industry but you can not help your fellow whatever,” he added.

He explained that he wishes to help the artiste genuinely since he has the capacity and urged MC Jessy to mind his own business.

While speaking to Sauti TV, MC Jessy accused Salasya of using Stivo’s financial problems for his PR stunts, advising the MP to help Stivo Simple Boy without broadcasting his sweet gesture.

He questioned the intentions of the lawmaker stating that he didn’t have the need to publicly show off supporting the ‘Mihadarati’ hitmaker unless he was seeking personal recognition.

“They should stop the habit because if you want to help him, you don’t need to have a camera around you to help. Salasya, why don’t you help Stivo without recording him? Why do you record him? If you really want to help him, help without making noise. How many young people have you helped without posting online? You just want to shine with one individual. You are taking advantage of someone’s struggles,” The comedian said.

Peter Salasya promised to help build and rent Stivo Simple Boy a house after his much-publicised financial crisis.

The MP has since delivered one of his promises by renting the ‘Freshi Barida’ hitmaker a one-bedroom house in Fedha Estate.
