Labor Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi pays courtesy visit to Femi Kuti after Obidients slamed him

Peter Obi, presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), on Wednesday, paid a courtesy visit to Afrobeats singer, Femi Anikulapo-Kutiat the Afrika Shrine in Lagos.

This comes after he got attacked by Obi’s supporters online following a comment where he purported referred to them as zombies, a statement he claims was taken out of context.

“You know what obedience means? Stand up, sit down, sit there — zombie. How can you be Obidient in this chaos? I am not Obidient. Tell me, at 60, why am I Obidient? You said I should be Obidient, sit down, be peaceful. Are you all okay in this country?” Kuti said during a performance at the Shrine.

Photos making the rounds online, shows the former Anambra governor at the Afrika Shrine with Charly Boy, Femi and his son, Made Kuti.

According to The Punch, Obi promised that his ‘Obidient movement’ will not make personal attacks a part of his campaign.

He said that it will be an issue-based campaign, bothering on everyday issues affecting Nigerians and Nigeria.

It may be recalled that Femi Kuti claimed that supporters of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, (LP), Peter Obi threatened to burn down Afrika Shrine over his recent comment.

He said that his family members received a series of threats from Obi’s supporters and some equally threatened to burn the Afrikan Shrine, simply because he allegedly tagged them as ‘zombies’.

He cleared the air by saying that all he did was to dissociate himself from Obidients because he is not one to follow a crowd.

“I’m too angry, I’m too sad and depressed to be ‘obedient’. How can anyone come up with that term? How can you be obedient? Me I can’t be obedient in this country. End SARS, Killings…,” he said.

The son of late Fela Kuti said that to him, being obedient simply meant that people would be told what to do without having a mind of their own.
