Nadia Nakai Recalls How It Felt Working With AKA On Mass Country Album. Fans and loved ones, including Nadia Nakai, were devastated by AKA’s death. Even though she is still grieving the loss of her partner, Nadia Nakai cherishes the recollections she shared with the late rapper.
Speaking at a premiere event for AKA’s latest album, Mass Country which premiered on Friday, 24 February. Nadia said that making music with the Supa Mega was their love language. This came after she was asked by Nomuzi Mabena what it was like working on music with AKA specially as romantic partners.
“It was like a part of our love language. It was something we used to do, just the two of us in the living room. It was amazing that the moment we’d get together and make music it was from a lovers’ perspective and not just two artists collaborating together that’s why it was special to me,” Nadia said.
Nadia Nakai collaborated with AKA on a song called Dangerous alongside Blxckie but she also said that she and AKA were working on another song before he passed away. “We worked on multiple songs, this is probably the second of our songs that we worked on the last few weeks before he passed away,” Nadia added.
Bragga also stated that she and AKA always wanted to create their own version of the Beyonce and Jay-Z partnership hence that’s why it meant so much for them to work on music together. “Kiernan and I would imagine Beyonce and Jay-Z when they perform a Coachella or Beyonce’s show in the lounge and we will be drunk as f*ck,” she added.
Nadia Nakai said she is proud of AKA even if the deceased rapper is not around to witness his brilliance after the release of the Mass Country album. “I can’t believe this is happening without you. I’m so proud of you baby. You did it. MASS COUNTRY OUT NOW,” Nadia wrote.
