US-based Kenyan preacher Victor Githu was forced to apologize after his inappropriate video capturing him sending his mother for a glass of water during a Facebook live show went viral.

Victor was caught on camera asking his mum to bring him some water while preaching.

“…Can you get me water tafadhali,” he is heard saying.

In the video, the mum quickly gets up to get him a glass of water. Victor then sips once before proceeding with his online sermon.

The clip that has circulated across social media platforms stirred backlash with most netizens expressing displeasure for the young man’s behaviour.

Victor during TikTok live session issued an apology to netizens noting that while the video was offensive to some, he never meant to disrespect his mother in public.

“Everyone who was offended by the incident, some of us never really understood what was happening, but I’m very sorry. Where there’s a problem, we will fix it and make it better because life is all about learning. I have definitely learned something new, and thank you for all your patience and criticisms,” he stated.

He explains that his arm is broken and maintains that the clip was taken out of context.

“Before you judge, look at the other context, content, and concept, and instead of judging based on one video, watch all the other videos. I just broke my hand, I had a scratchy throat, and I couldn’t leave until I was done with the live,” Githu said adding that his mum was okay with offering him some assistance.

“I thought the best thing to do is to ask my mom kindly to get me water, which she doesn’t have a problem with if I’m not feeling well and if I can’t leave the live video or the situation to get it for myself. It’s best if we stop judging.”
