Touchline Opens Up On How It Feels To Be Adored By DJ Zinhle
Touchline Opens Up On How It Feels To Be Adored By DJ Zinhle. Touchline’s meteoric journey to prominence has been nothing short of spectacular. The rapper may have met some difficulties along the way, but the journey is proving to be fruitful.
The Actions Over Captions chanter has not only amassed fans from the general populace, but he has captured celebrity fans as well. One of them is the prominent DJ Zinhle. During an interview with fellow rapper Zingah on Choppin It With Bhuda T Podcast, the Tembisa-born rapper was asked how it feels to have people like Zinhle cheering on his music.
In response, Touchline said; “at the end of the day is validation because a lot of guys in the game never truly validated me,” he said. “So it was almost like, okay I feel like I’m good, but they were not giving me that thing to feel that I’m good.”
The rapper said he always gets validation from people outside the rap game such as actors, soccer players and DJs. “It will always be people, its normally actors, soccer players, DJs and it will never be my OGs,” Touchline added.
Touchline stated that he believes DJ Zinhle enjoys his music because she can relate to the message in the lyrics. “Somebody mentioned to me that it shouldn’t be a shock because whether it’s a DJ Zinhle or it’s an upcoming DJ, you still appeal to the human in them. Like a lot of what you say is still relevant or it’s still relatable to them because they are humans,” Touchline said.
He added; “people often look at celebrities as not humans, but at the end of the day, Zinhle’s favourite song, the one she used to caption the most was Actions Over Captions. I think it’s possibly because it gives her the feeling that she can conquer anything because people use that stuff in the gym bro.”
“So I think it appeals to the human in her, the ambitious self, something that speaks to her directly. It doesn’t speak to anything surrounding her, but her as a human, and a lot of the guys you know. I remember Cass also tweeted, Kwesta has always been showing love.” Touchline said.
“I think I don’t appeal to them as musicians, I appeal to them as consumers, as people that feel these emotions that I feel. Which is what people think they don’t feel. Shoutout to Zinhle too, I think even her just showing love publicly helps to become what it has become.”
