Try to keep up with Dick Van Dyke’s workout in his nineties
Dick Van Dyke is a national treasure. He has been an inspiration to many people through the years, and he continues to lead the way with his incredible workout routine.
Dick does all of his workouts in his backyard with equipment all by himself at age 95. He’s still dancing and singing, recently performing with his wife, Arlene, who is also a singer.
Dick says, “So, all you old guys out there, listen to me. I’m telling you, you can keep going for a long time. I’m still dancing and singing.” He says he views himself as an active actor and can’t wait to hit that big milestone of 100 years old.
A ‘CBS This Morning’ interviewer asks Dick, “Do you consider yourself still active as an actor?” Dick says, “Oh, sure! I’d like to perform, but I didn’t know how much until this year. Yeah, I’d go on the…I’d do anything right now on the stage.” He smiles and laughs with the interviewer.
They talk about his appearance in the new ‘Mary Poppins’ movie in 2018 and how he danced on top of a desk. He said the director gave him four options regarding what he could do, and he took the hardest one!
Dick Van Dyke began his career that spanned seven decades as an entertainer on radio and TV. He starred in the original production of ‘Bye Bye Birdie’ and won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. After that success, Dick was given his own show ‘The Dick Van Dyke Show’ from 1961 through 1966.
When you couple those accolades with his iconic role in the original ‘Mary Poppins,’ no one can compare to Dick’s legendary status. He’s won every award there is, and he’s still going strong in his 90s.
