Wizkid becomes first African artiste to headline UK’s biggest music festival, Glastonbury (video)

Grammy award-winning Nigerian artiste, Wizkid has accomplished a historic feat by being the first African musician to perform as the headlining act at the prestigious Glastonbury, the largest music festival in the UK.

Over 210,000 people attended the Glastonbury music festival, which took place on Friday in Somerset, England, United Kingdom.

The “Other Side Stage” of the event hosted Wizkid, who put on a memorable performance. His mesmerizing performance featured a combination of his biggest songs, including “Essence,” “One Dance,” “Ojuelegba,” “Soco,” and “True Love.”

In other news, Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first African artist to sell out the 80,000-capacity stadium in London.

The Nigerian superstar captivated his fans with his signature mesmerizing performance during a concert held at the stadium on Saturday, June 3.

The London stadium officially confirmed the record-breaking achievement and extended their congratulations to the self-styled ‘African Giant’ via their official Twitter handle just before the show.

They tweeted,

“NOW SOLD OUT @burnaboy’s RECORD-BREAKING concert has now officially SOLD OUT.

What an incredible achievement for the first-ever African artist to solo headline a UK stadium. For those lucky enough to make it, enjoy the show.”
