Taking to Twitter, a prominent author Gasant Abarder from Capetown questioned why Youngsta CPT’s music always receives more airplay but the rapper is never appreciated in real-time. “Why aren’t @YoungstaCpt tracks getting more radio air time than Flowers? Serious question. It is superior on every level imaginable.” Tweeted Gasant.

In response, Youngsta CPT did not mince his words stating that people will only give you flowers when you are dead. “They show love when you become a ghost…” Tweeted Youngsta CPT.

The Capetown-based rapper has stated several times how much he takes his music seriously and the people he represents. Recently, he dropped a track dedicated to Benni McCarthy in memory of AKA. Youngsta CPT said Benni’s move to Manchester United was a great thing for the people in Capetown as the legendary footballer has lived to be their source of inspiration.

I wanted to capture that feeling of pride and patriotism in music. He has always been a beloved South African icon but for Cape Town the respect and admiration for him runs deeper and I just wanted to pay respect to all his accomplishments knowing his back story.” He said.
